Have you earned money with google adsense?

Personally I have never used it, and I dont think I ever will. It seems a lot of work for small reward. You mention though in your post a lot of speculate information that really doesnt stand up to much scrutiny. Example

"google keeps it a secret how much its advertisers pay for clicks"

Google doesn't keep it a secret in fact if you go to the google keyword tool google will tell you directly how much it will cost the advertiser per click for the number one position. The advertiser can always keep control of their max cost per click by setting it at the keyword level.

By doing a little more reasearch the web site owner looking to build an adsense site can go through the keyword tool looking for very high cost per click markets EX credit cards

where an advertiser could be spending in excess of £10 per click!

Now build a site around credit cards and bingo you are profit sharing on some rather big cpc numbers. That said you will never compete with the big boys in this arena….far too competitive, but then it would be wouldn't it!
